Working directly with health care providers
AFMC’s Medicaid quality improvement (QI) team meets health care providers where they are, figuratively and literally. Our QI specialists assess the needs of the individual provider or practice, and offer real-world guidance and assistance onsite to build in processes that make the providers’ jobs easier. For instance, they may recommend standard forms to ensure each patient is asked the right questions, receives the right treatment and information, and has the best possible outcome for their condition or procedure. They may help develop a reminder system for patients and staff. They may provide tools to help physicians, school nurses or other health professionals communicate more effectively.
AFMC also conducts regional conferences for health care providers and staff members on topics related to quality improvement or the Medicaid system. Many conferences offer continuing education credits for physicians, nurses and other health care professionals.
