Medicaid Quality Improvement Initiatives
AFMC and Arkansas Medicaid collaborate to identify opportunities for improving specific aspects of care, such as increasing the use of appropriate asthma medications, raising flu immunization rates or improving care for diabetes. We then work together to determine how best to support health care providers in making needed changes to accomplish a project’s goals.
AFMC and Medicaid are currently collaborating on more than 30 ongoing quality improvement projects. The results of these projects benefit not only Medicaid beneficiaries but all Arkansans. Successful projects can also serve as models for improving care under other payers and nationwide.
